How to write a visa invitation letter

What the letter says

• Who you are: your full name, address, contact details, and your status in the country (citizen, resident or visa holder).
• Who you are inviting: their full name, date of birth and passport number.
• Why they are coming and how you know each other.
• The dates of the visit and where they will stay.
• Who pays for the trip and the stay.
• Your signature.

Each country asks for different things, and some ask for no letter at all. Check the visa page of the country being visited before you send yours. This page is a guide, not legal advice.
